437m / Xdrive tyres

Hey guys - I’ve got a set of 437m wheels

The tyres sizes they have come with are

Front: 255/35/19
Rear: 275/35/19

I don’t believe this is safe for the transfer box so I need to change tyres

Could I just change the front tyres or rear tyres, opposed to all 4 as this will be super expensive especially as I’ve only just bought these wheels

If I were to change just the fronts (to match up 1% tolerances) - what tyre sizes would I need

And same again, what if I were to change the backs only, what tyres sizes would I need please

Hope this makes sense? Basically I’m trying to save money by changing tyres (of possible) on one axel to avoid circa £1k+ bill on tyres!

Thanks

This is hard one, giving that 437 wheels are 9j wide on front and 10j wide on rear hence why you have 255 and 275 tyres, so tyre looks square, sorry but didn't you think about it before buying them wheels?this setup is just over 2%, is it safe? I can't tell you as I don't have xdrive.

The only thing you could do is go down to 265/35/19 on rear this would bring down to 1.2%. Not sure how this will look on rim, might look stretched all depends on tyre brand.

You can also get well in to 2% just by having different tyre brand alone within same size, so is hard to advise been honest.

Below you can see tire size comparison based on size not brand and you have list for min/ideal/max tyre size for rim width.

Thanks gents, I’ll get all 4 corners sorted! This looks to be the safest option

And no, I didn’t think it through before buying! I just really wanted 437M wheels, they seem to be super hard to find these days! I’ve had them before an absolutely love them, in hindsight I should never have sold them

They'll look spot on IMO - they suit the F3x series well; more so when the cars lowered

I've been very tempted by them; but stuck with my 18" 405Ms and glad I did; anything bigger would be square in no time with the local roads etc
