Question for EWG guys - anyone upgrade from v6 to 6.1 and notice the power surge at 2.5k now?

A bit frustrating - I ended up flashing back to stage 1 v6 which is fine, but now I'm about to install a downpipe and flash up to stage 2, and since I never added v6 of the stage 2 maps to my maps, I'm basically stuck with v6.1. Filed a ticket and Halim said it's not possible for him to add the v6 maps into my inventory...

Would be nice if we could get a configurable option in the map settings for throttle response.

I run either the 93 octane or E30 stage 2 version 6.1 maps on my 2014 EWG and have been since v6.1 came out and I don't notice any surging issues. I did have a bit of an erratic throttle at low load on v6.0 tht v6.1 fixed.

Hmm, it's almost like 6.1 caused erratic throttle for me where I didn't have it in v6.

Halim upload a revised v6.1 stage 1 test map for me, if it works well, I'm going to ask him if I can get a stage 2 version.

i flashed my car for the first time last week 2014 ewg, so iv never experienced the v6 map, but i dyno'ed my car and the torque starts climbing to just over 2500rpm and then plateaus all the way to 6000 rpm. The power doesn't feel like it surges, it feels like the power band has shifted which i prefer. Im loving this stage 2 ots map its crazy

FBO stage 2, still on stock plugs. With the colder weather, my startup idle has been rough. Never noticed this in the fall, and after warm up and driving a bit, when stopped at a light idle is fine. Is this just a cold weather thing? Could it be plug related? All of the above?

You can configure your own cold start settings under the configuration tab (little button at the top of the map)

I just run the OEM cold start and my car starts up perfectly! My car didn't really like the cold start delete in the cold weather. Give that a shot.

Hey guys, about a week ago I switched over to Bootmod3 from Dinan because I installed a catless downpipe on my car, Twice now I've gotten super knock/ injection shutdown codes Which has never happened before switching over to bootmod3. it's starting to freak me out but I dont want to panick and pull the tune. I'll like to get it figured out but I dont want to risk motor damage. Right now I'm running the stage 1 93oct tune, I thought about swithing down to the 91 tune and giving it a go but running 93 oct gas cause it's all I can get. but I also planned on installing an intercooler in the next few weeks and going to stage 2. Im not feeling that confident about it now though. anything I'm missing that could be causing this issue?

If your able to do some data logging I would say do that and then pass the info to a tuner of your choice just to be safe and see what you may be lacking or what may need to be changed 👌

You should open a bm3 support ticket with a few logs ready to send..

Side note- PTF, are the servers down? Having issues with online recoding after my flash. I get the error attached and the agent doesn't recognize the action.

You can run the 91 octane tune with 93 gas, just not the other way around. Your stock tune is actually for 91 octane.

Ha I didn't even think about that. I'm just a little bent out of shape cause I love the tune and how I can log and use my phone, My dinan tune was boring. But I wasn't expecting to have all these problems. I opened a support ticket with PTF and its just getting started. I'm throwing codes left and right, chassis stabilization and limp mode every time I go WOT. My timing seems to be off when flashed stage 1 so I flashed back to stock and everything is perfect. I read somewhere on here that some of the earlier DME's were tricky and my cars a '12 so that could be something, we'll see.

Yeah I flashed back to stock and I'm just going to wait to hear from PTF. Cars doing fine now, I'm just not used to it being this slow lol, I had the Dinan tune on it for a long time.
