Paddles are back on track
Quote:
Serge at PTF is a magician. These guys are so awesome. He connected with me over the internet while I'm in my job parking and it took 15 min and my paddles shifter where back on track as before. This Bm3 is so worth it for all the features, the gain but also for the customer service. |

So, after a couple of months with the 1.0 rev of the trans flash, things are still going strong. I have not had the paddle shifter issue the others have mentioned. I do notice a hard shift into reverse if I start the car and go, but if I wait about 5 seconds first like I normally do to let things warm up, it doesn't do it. It only does this in reverse, not drive. Due to boredom, I ran the car a couple of weeks ago and even ran a quarter mile for giggles. It shows 12.7, but I had let off already as the road in Mexico was running out which is why the lower trap speed. I figure it will run 12.6 all day. Still very happy with the trans flash and BM3 in general.

Only way to remove it was flashing the tranny back to stock.

They remote into your computer and install E-sys/psdzdata if needed and run a TAL flash on the trans ecu.

Apparently xHP does not leave these codes (along with offering more control), I was going to just bite the bullet and buy it since I'm down this rabbit hole already.

So I'm thinking I'm getting what the paddle shift guys are describing. 2015 335i xdrive Bm3 stage 2. I notice when I'm in manual mode (my car has no paddles) and I go to shift from 1-2, when wide open, my car has such a delay that it will sometine's hit the limiter before shifting even tho I've pulled the paddle much sooner. Is there any fix planned for this?

I have been on this flash for 2 weeks with zero issues in manual mode w/paddles or auto. Overall very impressed 👌🏼
I made sure to get a new pan/filter along with ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid after flashing. |

I did use Carly for Bmw for coding. Did you? I will still try to flash back trans to OEM and see if I can erase the error. |

I got the BM3 tranny flash for a week now, car feels smooth but I may not feel any noticeable difference in terms of performance. As my dragy still says the same thing as before I flashed the TCU.
Anyone has tried the XHP flashtool? (yea you have to spend more...) |

My 2 cents -
I've been running the TCU flash from PTF since the Beta was first released. I've noticed more aggressive shifts and better power delivery especially since going Stage 2 BM3. However, I will say this coming out of first gear (automatic mode not paddle shifters) is lurchy and unsettling. This is more noticeable on first start up when the transmission is cold. However, there are times when coming to a slow corner the transmission shifts to 1st then back to 2nd. It feels like the clutches don't release fast enough and stick. Which causes the car to jerk and unsettles the car when accelerating out of the corner. With that said I am planning on going back to stock TCU. As the added benefit of the higher clamping force is lost on me for a daily driver. IMO |

I use Carly and Bimmercode to code as well, no issues. Try clearing out the codes with Carly...
