HPFP Upgrade for N55 EWG stock turbo?
I understand the benefits of a hpfp upgrade if the turbo is upgraded or exotic fuels are being used. But my question:
Is there an advantage to doing a hpfp upgrade on an N55 EWG running BootMod3 Stage2 on 93 Octane fuel with the stock EWG turbo? At what point have guys seen the stock hpfp hit its limit? If a hpfp upgrade would be beneficial to the stock EWG turbo running 93 octane, then which hpfp pump upgrade would you recommend based on cost, expected reliability, etc? Thanks! |

Slightly different, but a data point....
I’m FBO with the Dinan turbo on my M2, and for the first time ever I had HPFP drop outs last night with Stg 2 93 and E10. But it was 27F out! So, I’m inclined to think you won’t need the HPFP upgrade with the stock turbo unless you switch to E30. I’d always get HPFP drop outs with E30 if it was lower than 60F ambient. |

Your logs will 100% tell you where your HPFP stands. If your rail pressure drops below 2000, you should probably start leaning that way...or when you're WOT in the high RPM band and car feels like it "hit a wall" or "falls on it's face"
I'm now obviously biased towards Dorch...Dorch HPFP thread I created gives a little insight . .
