Most of us did, the subject comes up frequently, usually in response to questions about where to plug in a camera when your console outlet is already occupied.

I'd take that bet any day of the week, and give odds too. One would think that manuals have the words 'Do Not Read This!' on the cover.

Come to think of it, if they did so that might entice people to look inside, curious about the forbidden fruit that might be contained within.

You might be right, I never understood how people that buy a brand new car and don't want to know as much as possible about it, but there's sure plenty

I do browse the owner's manual, but I have a big issue with it. BMW writes one generic manual for the entire 3-series. So half the stuff it talks about you may or may not have in your car. E.g. A stripped/base 320i owner reading the same manual as a loaded 340ix owner. One of them is going to run out to their car all excited to check out a feature they don't have.

BMW needs to modularize the manual so it's keyed to the features and model of your car, then let you click on a button on their website to generic a custom PDF manual specific to your own car. Damn, I need to patent that idea!

Here is a thread worth reading to find all the stuff people have found.

Cool feature, find something, learn anything? http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=671526

I use the manual, mainly to go into greater detail than the videos. I watched every video three or four times before I took delivery, so that I had a good idea of how to use the features without having to experiment on the fly.

Just to note, for the Canadian owners out there..... our BMWs do NOT have this 12V plug (nor do we have the one in trunk). There is the hole for it, however it is not wired.

Its kind of ridiculous if you ask me ..... BMWCA needs to get their sh*t together and get us (Canadians) more of this "basic" stuff included.

I mean US owners get a free cargo net with multi-hooks in their trunks too. We got nothing

I got mine wired at no charge. Dealer even put a sucket in for free but they kept the car overnight. I guess they don't wanna lose me as a customer since I give them so much business
