Hello,

I have a basic head unit and display in my 14 320i. It is the 6.5" screen with basic bluetooth. I have a combox and i bought a 8.8" screen and navigation head unit.. what all will i need to install? A new wire harness? Sorry for the limited info I am new to BMW's.

There are numerous threads covering this exact topic, so definitely sort through those if you want more specifics.

As far as I remember the required hardware depends on what you have (CIC, NBT, NBT EVO) and what you want. (just want the larger screen or other features? do you want to stretch your screen to fit the larger screen or have the native resolution coded in?).

Again many threads out there, but here are some from when I was looking into a screen/ headunit upgrade. I had an HU_ENTRY in my car, and for what I wanted I ended up swapping out my headunit so I could get ID6 with carplay, gps, bluetooth etc.. VERY WELL worth it

Thank you for the reply. This is the only coding part I don’t see on my BimmerCode app.. HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
would this be missing because of my factory headunit?
