328 Stage 1 vs wrx sti

One of my buddy recently got a 2020 wrx sti, and its an amazing car. just wondering how my BM3 stage 1 328 would stack up against his car in a race (driver abilities being the same). I know the easiest to test it out, but just curious if anyone of you folks have already done this.

With stage 1 I'd say you'd have the advantage. STI actually didn't perform as well against their counterpart (WRX).

It'll be close, all things being equal the STI might have a tiny advantage off the line.

Plus the sti could have the millions of faulty piston rings. One let's go and your friend will probably stop.

Are you X-Drive? I got the STI here. I've seen a stage 2 328i lose to a Civic Type-R which has less hp than the STI and is FWD

And the type r loses hard to a vw. I like where you are going with this.

Very negligible horse power difference though.

I beat my buddies 2017 sti with my 328 on a stage 1 91 tune with only downpipe and intercooler. The sti is slower than you think. Use the trans flash in bm3 or get xHP for your trans and it'll help a bit. Unless they dump the clutch to launch from a dig you'll pull ahead due to shifting.
