Check out Kies Motorsports on YouTube. Bryan has videos of the BM3 programming, both PC & smartphone. He also has JB4 install videos. May be close enough to help with your removal of the Dinan. Great quality videos, precise, articulate and no extra fluff.

If you remove the Dinan tune yourself, make sure you unplug the battery.

Been thinking of getting the Bootmod3 myself!
Let us know about the differences from the different brands when you're done!

Will do! Just waiting on the tune to ship. Once it arrives I should have the obd agent built already then its game time I'll post a first impression and after a few weeks/ a month I'll post my final thoughts. I'll keep the thread up to date for sure! I see alot of people here are interested in switching over to bootmod3.

You shouldn't have to wait for tune to "ship". License key is emailed, then you simply activate. Other than the OBD agent, PTF does not ship or mail anything bm3 tune related...

The Enet to OBD is in the box and you can't flash the tune without the BM3 sticker on the raspberry box, durr.

Dinan VS. Bootmod3, The switch.

Once every 2 years isn't THAT bad. :P or, if you're PWG, you could try using one of those DPfix modules. I'll have to smog this coming July, gonna give that a shot first before resorting to reinstalling my stock dp.

If I lived in an emissions testing state I wouldnt do it either, I wouldnt want to have to take my dowpipe out, put the stock one on and then remove the stock one again and put the catless back on every 2 years. nope. lol, I feel that would get old real quick.

Yep, Thats what PTF charges for theirs ready to go, So I figured I'd give building it a shot for a fraction of the price.

Update**
This morning before work I removed the Dinan tune and flashed the Bootmod3 stage 1 93 burble tune, Very first impression it seemed to have a little more boost lag than my dinan stage 1 but I only drove a few miles down the road, at first it removed my check engine light for catless downpipe which was the only code thrown (I checked before Flashing tune) but as I pulled into work my CEL came back on, so whatever it is must be caused by the tune, I was unable to check it as my OBD agent wasnt verifying my VIN when I got here, so I'll have to go mess with it on lunch and see what code was thrown. We'll see. I'll keep you guys updated. On lunch I'm going to go out and disconnect the battery like PTF suggest to get the OBD agent to read my VIN again. I cant imagine what I could have thrown a CEL for. Once I get it actually Functioning properly I let you guy s know what I really think. Boost lag issue can be corrected I'm sure.

Ok awesome. My issue is I feel like it's not making stage 4 power. Dinan says 450 crank I'm doubting that. I'm going to first inspect for boost leaks but if the systems sealed fine I'll switch to BM3. Thanks for letting me know

Anytime bro! I'm dealing with an exhaust issue right now but when my new exhaust comes in hopefully this week I'll be able to play with the tune more and post up more details of what I think.

UPDATE.

So some of you are aware, some are not but I've been having a lot of problems since switching over to Bootmod3. I think the problems are due to me having one of the first gen DME's which Were harder to unlock. When I flashed to stage 1 I was having chassis malfunctions everytime I went WOT and I was throwing codes left and right so I flashed back to stock and Contacted Bootmod3 support. Halim over At PTF has been great! He responds quickly and in 24hrs had a test map over to me after Sending him logs, most the trouble has been worked out. I'm having a few more small issues he is still working out but Im now very confident in PTF abilities. I really like the ability to log and see what the motor is doing and having someone like Halim to back it up if something is out of wack is great! The likelihood of one of you having these problems are slim but I wanted to throw out how great the customer service experience has been. I think another issue with my car is the fact its the bastard year with PWG unlike all other n20's after it (which I like and dont like)

To anyone on the fence about doing a Bootmod3 stage 2 tune to an otherwise stock car. I had this tune done by a local shop last weekend and the power increase is very strong while retaining the same smooth drivability. Now I’m considering a catless DP.

Car runs cool even after several WOT runs. I’m considering getting catless DP but concerned about passing smog hassle and smell.....

I thought stage 2 requires catless or hf cat. :
