Thanks for the heads up. I regularly check the OTS maps section on the bootmod3.net site but it pretty sparse there. I'm looking for a full blown change log of what was added or changed on each revision if there is one.

Most ppl seem they wont understand or read it anyways, they will ask even when answers are posted
But they do provide some brief changes in FB, u should just join as it takes too much time/work for them to come on forums everytime there's an update instead of keeping everything in FB as 1 place is easier.

I can appreciate that, but as someone who despises facebook I all but refuse to join so I guess I just keep getting updates through the grapevine.

Another thought along this same vein, they have an FAQ site already up and running, they could just use that as a location for their running change log and just refer people there from every social media site/forum.

You have the option to download the map first so that internet is not required.

It's a process of sorts. Here's what I did.

1) Buy license.
2) Download and run agent on laptop. (Installer now available)
3) Connect laptop to my phone's hotspot.
4) Navigate to "www.bootmod3.net/www/index.html?q=1520622777028#/login" and... login (Account already created at this time)
5) Under vehicles I clicked on my VIN, was prompted to register the car with the provided license code (came to email after buying license).

10) vrooom vrooom.

Oh and log, log, log and log. Learn what it means so that you don't break things.

Yes, I understand there would need to be the hardware side but what I am trying to understand is if the BM3 software can completely reprogram the DME or is it only modifying certain parameters?

I will eventually do a turbo upgrade if I keep this car and would rather have an EWG setup (I have PWG right now). I can buy an EWG DME and have it aligned to my current car and buy the appropriate harness and turbo. If BM3 can switch the DME to EWG then that saves me some hassle.

I would think that if you got the necessary hardware, including a DME that is coded for EWG from the factory, then it would just be a normal unlock and flash.

Finally got my DME software updated. When I went to try and flash BM3, it still gave me the same error. The weird thing is that the software details were identical to the prior values before i had the DME update. Its like the BM3 platform didn't take in the new software details... not really sure whats going on.

I have a pic of the DME module before and after the update, so the DME definitely has a new software version. I am waiting to see what PTF thinks. My coder said to try and plug the car back in and see if it recognizes the software.. so odd. Anyone else have this happen?

Are you sure the DME was updated to a newer version? Try going to the "About" section when you login to BM3 and clear the settings. Then try again.

Pretty certain, the module in Esys changed from what he showed me and this guy is pretty damn good at coding. He somehow got the M performance logo to work on the Kombi. Ill try what you recommended tonight.

I don't believe one can use E-Sys to update the firmware on a DME. He may have coded different modules but DME may still be running on the same version.

Maybe he didnt use E-sys but it looked like esys when i saw the DME module version. It was done remote and he has done plenty of DME updates; he was recommended by PTF to me. I guess we'll find out tonight. PTF said I need to delete the old coding file in the agent folder and then it should work.

For EWG


PWG sees different versions and they're a little behind but doesn't mean anything, since the EWG crowd is much bigger and easier to things to do across the board. Right now I'm going to be going back to v4 and v5 as i see the logs are better for me / stronger and faster.
