F30 335i xDrive, Adaptive Suspension - Lowering Springs??
Hi all,
I am about to lower my 2015 335i xdrive with adaptive M suspension. After doing some research, it seems like Dinan and Eibach have some good matching lowering springs for f30 adaptive suspension. Has anyone tried these springs in there F30 yet? if yes, what are your thoughts? Video below shows my reasoning. |

Update on the Eibach lowering springs and Dinan bump stop install. I went with the RWD version of the Eibach springs, even though my F30 is xDrive. Overall, I am happy with the end result.

I have the Dinan springs and stops and i coupled it with Dinan's "Shockware" software update. Couldn't be happier.

njdangelo Nice! Thanks for sharing. I did not know much about the Dinan's Shockware software, but I am going to check it out. Quick question. On what aspects did you notice the improvement after the software update?

Makes sense. It seem like a great option if you have the dinan springs. I have eibacks, because dinan did not offer enough drop for me for the xDrive. I see that the shockware is tuned for 20 to 30% stiffer shocks. Eiback is about 10% stiffer. It's a bummer. I will do more research on it and see if they offer different tuning options. Thanks again, @njdangelo

H&R springs specific to my F33 xDrive M adaptive suspension. I'd say how much it lowered it but nobody woul likely believe it.

Was thinking of going with similar setup. Any idea of labor cost for this? Can't do the shockware flash myself, so was considering taking the lazy approach and just having my local Dinan dealer do it.

I'm a newbie here and still not able to post my own threads but I am wondering about the correct front strut lengths on BMW F30 320d x-drive. I'm in the process of replacing my factory fitted units with Bilsteins. I only wanted B4 OEM grade (avoiding insurance complications) but the units supplied by AutoDoc are 45mm longer than the originals and won't fit under the wheel arch without disconnecting the front wheel drive hub unit from the drive shaft. AutoDoc now says there are no B4 equivalents and have suggested a B6 option. I'm on axle stands trying to decide what to do. Here is what I have been supplied so far:
Front Left: B4: 22-238269 Front Right: B4: 22-238276 Rear Left & Right: B4: 19-220093 AutoDoc are suggesting: Front Left: B6 35-264583 (OEN: 31 31 6 874 373) Front Right: B6: 35-264590 (OEN: 31 31 6 874 374) Rear B6: 24-264570 (OEN: 33 52 6 874 377) My existing factory units have the following OENs: Front Left: 31 31 6 791 553-03 Front Right: 31 31 6 791 554-03 Rear: 33 52 6 868 654-01 My OENs appear on the AutoDoc website for BOTH the B4 and the B6 so I am lacking in confidence that the B6 will be aby different. I have asked AutoDoc for the dimensions. No reply so far. Just asked Bilstein the same question. They are promising an answer but my feeling is that there is a major error in the Bilstein database. I measure 134mm from top of body the shoulder on the original front struts and the B4 struts measure 179mm. Not even close. Any thoughts? |

It sounds like you received the RWD bilstein b4 replacements. The AWD versions are shorter at the bottom, below the shoulder.
Here's a FS post with RWD bilsteins: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1919959 I just installed AWD b6s and the length of the shock below the shoulder was only ~1/4 inch. |

Dinan gets BMW dealers to sell their products because they assign ridiculously high numbers of book hours to Dinan parts installations. So the labor is very profitable for dealers. It's a ripoff! |

It is the same three part numbers that you said that you received from the retailer 22-238269 (left front strut) 22-238276 (right front strut) 19-220093 (rear shock) These are all standard struts/shocks for 320d XDrive. Are you certain that you do not have Adaptive/EDC struts/shocks? They have a cylinder sticking out at 90 degrees from the main tube. See photos. It appears that you have the correct B4 part numbers for a standard suspension 2014 320d XDrive. I'm searching for a reason that the B4's might appear different than the struts/shocks that you see on your car. What are the last 7 digits of your VIN? |
