I got it off ebay as well. $25 or so. I replaced the magnet with a bigger/stronger vava one since I was using large phones and cases.

How difficult was the installation? Does it make the trim stick out?

Wish there were retailers in europe for rennline. Its pretty expensive as it is, and with shipping and customs and vat i would end up paying almost 100$ for it 😑

It was definitely not a smooth install. I had to bend the shit outa mine to get it to fit properly. Even after doing so, it still puts a bit of pressure on the trim. Even with all of that, it's still my favorite mount.

Rennline for me as well. Doesn't stick out like the other person in this thread. Works great. Just suck a magnet in my cellphone case (small and thin) and works perfectly.

I'm using a similar setup, Rennline mount but attached a wireless car charger onto the ball (instead of using the magnet) and fed the USB cable through the dash and to the 12v plugin near the passenger foot well. Very clean setup and can charge my phone!

The arrow is where I ran the USB cable through the dash and down to the foot well you really can't even see the cable so it's a very clean set up (you need to use a flat USB cable otherwise the trim won't snap back into place). The USB cable is plugged into my radar detector 12v plugin for now, need to get a Blendmount and a mirror tap which will come soon. It's the type of wireless car charger that has a motion sensor and opens when you put your phone near it so it's super convenient to use. Highly recommended. I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra so gotta have a sturdy set up to support the big heavy phone lol. Last edited by eff32fl; 12-19-2020 at 08:31 PM.. |

Switched to a Proclip magsafe mount in my f39. Using a magsafe case.
It holds up the phone to bumps and turns but not to dogs. |

I think the Rennline ball joint fits most devices. The biggest problem I had was finding a flat flexible angled cable. The one I bought are called "GOLF GC-68T" and works great. |

Carmount works perfectly for my phone and the wife said its the best car phone mount she has ever used and she has gone through about 10 different phone mounts over the past several years.

It installs quickly, holds the phone in the perfect driving position for me without blocking the screen or important controls, holds various models/sizes of family phones, a short coiled charger cable from the 12v cig lighter fits without getting in the way, and most importantly, it holds the phone solidly and securely without it flying off no matter how aggressively the car is driven. Hope this helps! |
