How to protect car parked outside near the beach
hey guys!
I was just wondering what would be the best way to protect my F30 parked in the Florida sun?? I will not have access to garage, the apartment is about 5 miles away from the beach. I have already put a coat of chemical guys sealant and wax. I was thinking about getting a car cover since I will only be using the car on the weekends. Any recommendations? |

Don't put car cover if it's not clean.
For cover I recommend Bmw OEM outdoor cover. If u can't put cover, at least put Windshield cover and some cover/sheet on the seats to protect from sun damage. |

The OEM covers are very tight on the car right? I really dont want to scratch my EB M sport paint.

Car cover...there are several different types, some made of cotton for inside storage (keeps dust off, etc.) and others that are designed for outdoor use. They are all designed not to scratch your car. These are not cheap (unlike the ones for $39 at Walmart), so be prepared to pay a few hundred dollars for them. You can order a BMW custom-fit cover from getbmwparts dot com (Tischer BMW in MD) at a good discount. If it rains, don't let your car sit in the sun afterward unless the cover is breathable and water-repellent.
Window tint...I've always had my BMW windows tinted using the best film available. Check your local laws (reputable tint shops know what the limits are) and ask for "ceramic" tint film or anything other than the cheap dye-type. You can then either use a sunshade for the front windshield or have it tinted with a special clear film that will block UV and heat to some extent.

Just to confirm the OEM cover is the best right? Or should I get something better? I already have ceramic tint on all sides?. |

My OE cover fits like a glove....but as others have stated, only use cover if car is spotless (even then it'll get micro scratches) I'd definitely put PPF (Paint Protectant Film) on it... .

Make sure you get a good folding sunshade for your front window to prevent your dash from getting damaged by heat and UV.
