Not much time to clean - Used Chemical Guys Black Car Kit.

Since beginning of the year, I didn't had too much time to properly detail my car.
So last weekend, decided to give the CG Black car kit a try, along with their Butter Wet Wax.

Let me know what you think:

Personally I don't like Chemical Guys products. The marketing is childish, prices are marked up, and product line is too confusing. Car looks good though.

OP, are those scratches on the back passenger side lower panels? Can't tell if it's a reflection or not.

I think Chemical Guys products are ok. Definitely no worse than anyone else. I use a mix of Chem Guys and Adams products; depending on the job.

Did you Clay and polish the car?

Please share your detailing steps. This is for the betterment of the thread for others who may take a peek here and wish to follow your steps.

Yes please! This is my first every black car and I'm learning the hard way that it requires special/different treatment.

Any tips would be very appreciated.

No Holograms, picture angle with ground reflection.

As for steps, I did clay the car and did start a big job in the spring, but didn't have time to finish.

Usually:

- Remove dirt and loose debris with HP washer
- Foam cannon
- Wash (2 bucket technic + separate wheel bucket)
- Clay
- Completely dry the car (drying microfiber w/detailing spray)
- 2 or 3 steps paint correction (Rough compound w/yellow pad (not always), medium compound w/white or orange pads, finishing w/blue pads)
- Paint sealant
- Wax on top (optional)

This time:

- Remove dirt and loose debris with HP washer
- Foam cannon
- Wash (2 bucket technic + separate wheel bucket)
- Completely dry the car (drying microfiber w/detailing spray)
- CG Blacklight (applied by hand)
- Wax on top

Products in my detailing vault:

- Riccardo clay
- Menzerna compounds and Powerlock sealant
- CG soap
- CG Black car kit
- CG Butter wet wax
- A whole assortment of Rag company microfibers
- Lake Country pads
- Porter Cable 7424XP
- 3 buckets w/grit guards in all of them
- Multiple detailing brush
- ...

Thanks for your comments.

Fine then its smeared wax either way thats not just a reflection.

Your process sounds excellent, but you probably could have gotten away with a 2 step, detailing is about finding the least aggressive method of correction.

That I do know, thank you.

Not detailing professionally, but as a hobby for several years now.
I'll try the least aggressive approach 1st, then work my way up if needs be.

I prefer to be very anal with my washing technique, and do just a 1 step refresh then having to do the whole thing (like when I buy them, and see in what shape the paint is).
