Noisy door seals, dealer won’t replace.

I’ve brought attention to them every time my car got serviced. The last 3 times they “libricated” the seals and it stopped the noise for a few days at best.

I dropped off my car for schedule maintainance today and told him about the seals doing the Snap, Crackle, and Pop thing again... The guy tells me “there’s nothing much we can do.” WTF!? So you’re telling me a $10k KIA has better door seals then my $47k BMW?

How do I get it escalated if they don’t replace my seals or at the least apply teflon tape? I read that they do have an updated part and I’d rather they replace the seals and Shadow Line trim instead of putting a bandaid on it.

If you use rubber cleaner on door seals after each wash you will almost completely eliminate the creaking sound.

Honestly- if they replace the door seals they will be the exact same compound/material and the problem will come right back.

I use spray detailer, a microfiber, and run it along the length of the seals with firm pressure and it fully elimates the 'creaking' for about 5,000 miles. Then repeat. 5 minute process.

I tried Gummi Pflege, silicon, all kinds of stuff. Finally brought it in and they applied Carbaflo. That was in March and it hasn't made a sound since.

+1. This is called 'routine maintenance'. Squeaky seals are more than annoying, they're telling you that they're dried out and need to be treated. The penalty for failing to do so is more than noise, it's also premature wear that will eventually result in having to replace them.

Has the same issue. Took it to dealer and they put Teflon tape on all the seals and the noise is gone now. It's a known problem to them they should know this fix.

How... exactly, does one apply teflon tape to a door seal? Im trying to eliminate a creak/click sound and Im wondering if this could be the issue.

This is unacceptable when you paid that much for a car and the door seal came with poor quality rubbers. Had the problem with my F30 and my new F80 is experience the same squeaking noise, you have to go the extra miles by applying silicon lubricant for every other months simply it's a poor design on the door seals.
I had the same problem on driver side doors and drive me bonker. Why can't BMW design a better door seals for the 3 series.

Teflon tape is applied to the door shut/trim, not the door seals.

Door seal creaking has existed for generations of cars, and not just BMW. Changes and revisions in door seals doesn't stop the problem.

Most of the problem is not the seals at all, but contamination, polishes, etc.

I'm very careful not to get polishes on the rubbers, or the critical flock coating on the top edge seal. No issues with any creaking in over 5-years.

The fact Teflon tape solves the problem, shows it is 'stiction' issue. The seals don't move freely when contaminated with some polishes. "Too grippy".

Can someone post a pic of where the tape is actually applied? Im clearly confused and may try this to see if it eliminates some creaking that Im hearing.

The Kia has door jams that are most likely just body colored and part of the door panel. BMWs have that shadowline trim which looks much nicer but damn my 340i used to squeak like the bottom rat at a Japanese rat orgy. Quite annoying that they didn't just put that Teflon on for you. I keep reading that there is a service bulletin for it.

Up to now I've had no issues regarding the door seals, maybe its the products I use to clean the car, for those who have take a look at this product its highly rated & the brother says its the bollox for rubber & plastic.
