An allocation for a convertible opened up so I'm selling my new White/Red Coupe!
SELLING FOR A FELLOW ENTHUSIAST, HERE IS WHAT HE WROTE ME: Let me preface this by saying that the only reason I am selling this car is to purchase the M4 convertible. Having been an M3 fanboy my whole life, and owning each of the generations, I can say wholeheartedly that this new car is a perfect blend of everything great about the past blended with modern technology. Anyway, if you're looking at this car right now, you probably already know how awesome the new M4 is. The car currently has 688 miles, and is as-new. There is not a scratch, ding, dent, or any other sort of defect on the vehicle whatsoever. The White on Red looks absolutely awesome, the pictures don't even do it justice. An allocation opened up for me to get an M4 convertible, so I had to jump ON it. These M4's are so hard to find right now, and many of them are stickering in to the $90,000 range, some dealers are even selling them over sticker. When ordering mine, I was sure to select the necessary creature comforts (Executive Package) and nothing I did not need, to keep both weight and cost down. As a purist, the six speed manual was the only option. In the previous Jen M3, the six speed was still fun but required nonstop shifting because of the low torque numbers. Trust me, and this car, you have no problem in any gear. Seeing many dealer demos available out of there, it honestly scares me to think that somebody could purchase a car that has been beat on driver after driver since day one. I have always followed the break and met regimen recommended by BMW on these cars, and to be completely honest, I have really not even gotten on the gas. Here is your chance to beat the wait, and get the car basically before anyone! Please call Ben at 339-793-1573 with any questions whatsoever. Being a straightforward guy, I will not entertain any offers lower than $71,000. Please do not waste your time, serious inquiries only! MORE PICS HERE: View post on imgur.com

just to be clear, i'm not trying to mess with you; but i would honestly be very interested in this car if you were being realistic with the price. somewhere close to $60K and you would have my attention. otherwise my local dealer will come down $2k off MSRP on a new car. keep in mind your car doesnt have the transferable free maintenance. either way, good luck

Close to 60k after only 600 miles? He's eating the tax cost as well. 60k would not be reasonable given how new and in demand the car is. Again, he's taking a loss at 71k. |

How is he taking a loss at $71k? I have no idea what he bought it for and honestly it's irrelevant. I still have to pay 7% tax when I register the car. Like I said most dealers are willing to take $2k off without much difficulty. Either way I didn't say $60k but close to $60k

Ummm, no...new buyer pays tax based on the sale price when they go to register the vehicle. If MSRP was 69, xxx on this car, he's fooling himself if he thinks someone will pay $71k... Dealers are giving $3 to $4k off MSRP around me...

Maintenance doesn't tranfer anymore but I think you can pay to have it transferred. This applies to all 2015+ cars purchased/leased after 7/2014

wow...that's horrible. I knew they made knew rules about transferring CPO warranty (which is only $200 to do). So maybe the transfer fee is minimal?

My CA said a 'few hundred bucks' but couldn't give me an exact #. Over MSRP with no tax savings to the new buyer and the pay for maintenance transfer. Doesn't sound like a very good deal. No offense OP you're gonna have to eat some cash here more than likely.

I know guys, have to try something. What, in your opinion, would be the reasonable selling price?

~$63k. This car can be bought brand new for $66k. many people also lease; so that takes away a lot of people. Many others also finance; which is a lot easier at the dealer. Most also want dct so that also limits you. Honestly closer to $60k for a quick sale. You should try taking it to car max or seeing what the dealer (the one you're buying that convertible from) will give you for it

The dealer where I buy my cars had a customer buy a new M4 Vert in YMB.
He gets it home and decides for whatever reason he doesn't like the color. Takes it back to the dealer and tells them take it back and get him one in another color. Basically the dealer takes it back at about a $10,000 loss to the customer. I wouldn't expect you to lose that much but unless your area is super hot for these cars I could see eating ~$5000. As was said most people are probably getting ~$1000-$2000 off on new cars why pay over list for a "used" car. By the way didn't know if you want white again. But the dealer I'm talking about still has this YMB M4 Vert. Exec. 6-Speed and the car has 35 miles on it. |

All you would avoid paying that he already paid would be the registration for the first year, tax is charged everytime a sale takes place. As far as the over MSRP that some idiot dealers get, that's on a new car not used. 62 to 63 retail would be a fair retail price on this car in my opinion.
Once you drive that car off the lot it ALL changes.

All those thinking 62k are wishful. No chance he should or would actually sell such a high demand vehicle at that price point, especially when there are buyers purchasing demo cars with 1-2k off msrp and 600+ miles on the odometer. Last edited by Stevens21234; 10-25-2014 at 03:26 AM.. |

Warranty is the true differentiator in this case, and luckily that will be still be transferred to the new owner. |

In Georgia they use the "fair market value" of a car when you register it. So even if you paid $1 for a car when you register it you pay tax on whatever they feel the fair value is. Kinda sucks. With all that said there is just a fee to transfer it now. Any buyer can find out what it is when they call BMW. My CA said shouldnt be too bad. |

And when it comes to taxes what he paid is again irrelevant. The new buyer still has to pay tax, so why do I care what he paid? And about maintenance are you serious? $500?? We are talking oil changes, brakes, wipers, etc. worth a lot more than $500; especially in an M car |
