22PLE User Reviews?

Was talking to a local detail shop yesterday about getting a full paint correction and a coating and they recommended 22PLE as a coating. They showed me a Porsche and a Corvette they had recently done and it looks amazing! They said it should last about two years with my driving habits (8-10k miles/year, no track).

After searching this forum, it looks like people started talking about this product a couple years ago. How many of you guys are using this product? How is the longevity? Is it as hydrophobic as they made it sound? Would love to hear some experiences from people who have been using this for a year or more... Thanks all.

it's still a great product just not the most popular choice today. there are still many detailers using it. prep work is key for any coating to get maximum protection.

Agreed, coatings are worthless absent stellar paint correction. I am not familiar with the product you mention, but would question the detailer regarding their before/after results with paint correction prior to moving forward.

Ok, so assuming good prep work and an expertly done paint correction... Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Would love to hear from some folks that have used it before. Would you use it again?

i haven't used it personally, but i've read many reviews. like i said before it is still being used by some detailers. coatings are becoming a little saturated so people form tons of opinions.

if 22ple is the only thing available to you then go for it. you won't be disappointed.

^^ Thanks RJD... I've never dealt with this topic before, so please excuse my ignorance. Based on my perception of your comments it sounds like you're not a fan of the 22PLE because it may be outdated technology, and you'd recommend other paint protectants instead. Would you mind providing a little more detail on your thought process and/or recommendation? Thanks!

if i'm paying top dollar to protect my car i want the newest and best possible solution. that's just me everyone has different priorities. i've been out of the detailing scene for a few months, but don't think that much has changed. if i'm not mistaken modesta is the go to coating these days for the top detailers.

coatings are a competitive market and 22ple didn't seem to last too long, but like i said there are many people still using it. if it's your only option you won't be disappointed.
