2014 BMW M5  [0.00]
Best Value for Money Upgrades?

OK, I've decided to grow up and act my age. I've sold my beloved E46 M3 and bought an F10 M5.

Love it! But the power is like a drug - I want MORE!

Intend replacing exhaust and remapping to start with. Remapping seams to be a minefield with remaps available from a couple of hundred quid to thousands. What's the difference?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Basically tune, DPs, clutches. Search on the forum for tunes and go with the one you like.

no need for exhaust. just get downpipes, and piggy back. or if you want big power get a flash, and be prepared to spend more money on supporting mods.

/end convo

K&N drop-ins
Flash tune
Clutches (if you want to maximize the flash potential)

That's all you need.... 98.9% of cars on the road can't touch you especially from a roll!

Think about it:

1. Buy 2014 CP M5 for $55K
2. Spend $7K probably on all of the above
3. You have a car that demolishes most anything on the highway!

flash tune and drop-ins for an easy 650hp.

Want some more exhaust sound, go with aftermarket mufflers (RPI is one of the best in my opinion) or just downpipes with flash.

Want more than 650hp, grab a clutch set up and tune some more !

Flash tune (in US we use bootmod3, DME in Jersey, BPM and Mission in Los Angeles area), downpipes (VRSF or Fabworx), clutches (Dodson or SSP).

Think we are fortunate in UK to have such a company like Evolve Who actually care about their customers and service they provide..

Have always had exemplary service from them and cannot praise them enough especially Imran and Bilal Who in my opinion put customer service and satisfaction before profits..

There is no hard sales pitch or even any pitch ..there products speak for themselves and above all actually are very knowledgable and always make time for you..

I see most of you say K&N Drop ins. How do those K&Ns perform against maybe removing the charcoal filter and keepign stock air filters?

Somehow my K&N drop-ins gave me a CEL. I even took them out and tried to remove as much oil as possible from them and cleaned my MAF sensor. It still threw the CEL after all that.

So I just went back to stock air filter with the charcoal delete. It sounds almost the same to me.

Can you elaborate on the cheaper remaps? Who did them and what happened
I am also in the UK. It seems odd to me that there are so many US tuners pulling huge power out of the M5 but only two have a decent reputation for them in the UK, and they produce a LOT less power than all the US tuners.

Replacing stock front anti roll bar with a Competition Pack bar is great bang for buck improvement in handling. Sharpens turn in. Straight swap and easy install under an hour labour at an independent garage.

The yanks just slightly ahead of us im afraid, but when i went to VMAX in Sept there were M5's reaching 207 MPH with bigger turbos, so they are here in UK, you just got to look, and chat to the tuners more.

800 BHP easily achievable now, and with clutches and a JB4 stack 900 bhp, only reason im not at 900 BHP now is im right on the edge of grip level, and the extra 100 hp prob cost extra £8k

I wont eleborate on who and why, i just cant, but lets just say your safe with an Evolve remap
