Very well made video. Love that is just gives the useful information, cuts straight to the point, without a bunch of useless talking.

awesome job with the before and after information and numbers backing up the improvements

this is a crazy mod and im going to look into this i need this haha, Gents i have some concerns here.

the car made 10whp on the second run after probably being let to cool down as im sure the cam swap didnt take 2mins so in theory it could have made that 10whp from just letting the car cool down alone?

secondly shouldnt a n55 with those mods be making that power with out the cam in the first place?

The additional 10whp was with just the part and no tune updates.

Made an additional 40-50 whp after re-visioning the tune. So you will need to have a custom tune to extract the potential power after install.

Those rod bearings were hammered by detonation. This should be a warning to those that want to push a lot of low rpm boost/torque and/or go full throttle at a low rpm while in a low tall gear creating a high boost and high load situation. This is where you can generate a lot of detonation and Low Speed Preignition (LSPI).

FYI the rod bearings used in the 2014+ N55s are the same ones used in the S55. They are strong but tuning and safeguard are key. Nothing lasts long behind a lot of hammering.

His videos say 2015 335i so it's EWG. He's also pushing a lot of torque through that N55. Before the cam it was making way more power than a stock S55.

I didn’t watch the video in its entirety, so I missed the mods list and the car build. I assume PS2 turbo with those numbers?

Either way, I know the tuner who came up with the idea, and a few people looking at cam regrinding and modifications

Is it just cam + labor or is there other parts you would need too?

Its going to depend on your age or mileage on the motor as to what else you would look at .. you could just replace the exhaust cam,, but that's a lot of labor to not look at other items too.. unless your doing yourself.. in addition Id take a hard look at BPCs custom MILV solution.. for the intake side.. +1mm in intake valve opening. together could be a real solution without pulling the head and porting etc.. cool stuff coming together out there...
