I really liked my 2015 335i xDrive 6MT (Stage 2/FBO), but it was starting to show its age after 75k miles. Considering that BMW dropped the 6MT from the 3 series starting with the G30 in 2019, and I plan to have this platform for a long time/forever, I wanted to upgrade to the cleanest/newest version of a 6MT xDrive B58 that I could find b/c the F30 LCI would be the last 6MT 3 series ever made.
Luckily, I found it here on the forum (which, incidentally, also happened to be local to me which was a huge plus) being sold by a super cool and friendly member montrokc https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1963106 Aesthetically and from an options standpoint, this 340 is nearly identical to my 335, and that's a good thing b/c both were spec'd extremely well: black on black, MSport, xDrive, 6MT, blue calipers, EDC, etc. I guess the only downside is that my neighbors don't realize that I even got a new car, LOL. The mileage isn't as low as I'd prefer, however, to say this new car is immaculate is an understatement. The previous owner was a manic about keeping it insanely clean, both inside and out, and perfectly maintained...in fact, the dealer gave me 19 pages of service records including ELEVEN oil changes in 5 years/49k miles! Notable differences between the 2015 335i and the 2017 340i: -340's OEM suspension is improved/stiffer. Granted, this car has Dinan springs, but I suspect the dampers are also upgraded. Sport suspension setting is MUCH stiffer than on the N55 (no, the previous owner did not flash Dinan Shockware) -340 has rev matching which makes it feel significantly sportier -340 has HUD and CarPlay which make the DD experience significantly nicer. Current mods when purchased: MPPSK (power is okay, but the exhaust is awesome...sounds better than the OEM exhaust on my F80) Dinan springs and bump stops MPerf front splitter MPerf side skirts 12mm spacers x4 Winter setup: Motegi MR118 with Pirelli Sottozero 3, 18" square Timeline 10/21/22, 49,167: purchased the car 10/29/22: Despite the 12mm spacers, the rear was still too tucked-in for my liking, and I had some spacers laying around, so I put 17.5mm on. It was better, but not enough so I moved up to the big dogs: 20mm. This helped the stance a TON. 11/23/22, 49,548: Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF applied to entire front end, A and B pillars, doors, rockers, lower half of rear fenders, rear bumper. Xpel Fusion Plus ceramic applied to entire car including glass. Not only is the car immaculate, now it's [more or less] bulletproof 12/31/22, 50,019: Flashed BM3 Stage 1 93 octane. MPPK tune was okay, but Stage 1 is WAY stronger. Future plans: Not sure exactly. Now that I have a taste of what Stage 1 BM3 can do on the B58, I have a feeling I may end up with a catted DP so I can run Stage 2. And if I do that, all I'd need is a Supra HPFP to get up to Stage 2+, but that's all the further I'd take it as I don't want to get crazy on a DD. Maybe sway bars? Maybe some little stuff MPerf shift knob, spoiler, diffuser, etc? We'll see what itch needs scratching in the spring. For now, I'm just enjoying it as-is!

Fantastic car. I'm also msport track package 6MT, but gray on saddle brown. I even have the same 442M rims. jealous of your xdrive! My Rwd is fun too though. Also just added Bootmod3 stage 1.
In my opinion this is perhaps one of the greatest modern vehicles ever made. Just need to replace upper and lower control arms with 3rd party options to fix vague steering and all will be right as rain. Last edited by Cytoplasm0671; 01-01-2023 at 08:54 PM.. |

Congrats on the purchase. I do think the B58/6MT combo is a future classic. And for me, I don't need something as high strung as a G80 M4 or even the Supra for a 6MT so I purposely got my F32 right as the G30 was released.
I've been itching to do this but am waiting till the spring when I switch over to summer tyres to get the LCA swapped out. Which ones do you have? VAC? |

Luckily for me, I found an insanely clean B58/6MT/xDrive with all the best options right in my backyard. And when I said montrokc is a nice guy, I meant it. My house is currently being renovated so he actually let me come over to his house a couple weeks ago and swap out the winters in his garage with his tools!

Wow that's great. Yes having looked at available cars for over a year before pulling the trigger on mine, I can honestly say yours is the rarest 340i 6MT I've ever seen. ZHP is pretty rare, but having factory delivered xdrive, MMPSK, front splitter, and side skirts is honestly stunning.

Looks great! I'm making rounds now getting PPF quotes for my newer F30 as well.
Sadly, you've got me beat on the 6MT. Coming up through e36-->e46-->and two e90's all with MT, this is my first auto car aside from a couple dark years in an A4. Though, if it has to be auto, the b58/ZF8 combo is pretty bearable. My spec: '18 340i xdrive w/ ~28k on the clock Sunburst Orange on Black Factory MPPSK and Aero with splitter + Rocker extensions decals just like you. Don't see a ton in that spec ... PCD, Extended cluster (6WB), 360 Camera, HK, etc. about to throw on a winter set of Sottozeros on 400m's ... PPF in my sights also! Beautiful ride |

4/6/24; 53,949: xDelete RWD
The BM3 Stage 1 tune has plenty of torque, so I went ahead and flashed it to RWD via xDelete to see if I could get the back end to step out like my F80 used to. After driving around with it for over a month, I've decided that I don't really like it. Sure, I can get the rear wheels to spin pretty easily now, but the DSC is so conservative that it kicks-in immediately, doesn't let any slip angle whatsoever, and immediately cuts power which is super annoying. I contacted Kubax to see if he could code a less nanny-ish DSC map (kinda like MDM on the F80), but, sadly, he said it's not available on the F30. 5/15/24; 54,555: xDelete AWD Sport I just switched to the AWD Sport this morning. In that mode, it's still technically in AWD, but now it's got much more significant rear-bias than the OEM map. It's currently raining outside so this was a good time to test it out. I only went on a short drive (5 miles or so), but what I can tell right away is that, like RWD, I can still get some rear wheel spin, but unlike RWD, it let's me power through it (presumably b/c the front wheels have grip and are kicking-in to pull the car ahead). Like they say in the description, this allows you to say full on throttle through the wheel spin which is great. I think this may be the sweet spot so I'm going to leave it like this for a while. I didn't really push it around corners (I was simply gunning it in a straight line coming off a red light) so I can't comment on whether or not the rear end will actually step-out in a turn, but I have a feeling it won't. I suspect that between DSC and the front wheels kicking-in, the back end won't get too squirrelly.

Hey Fellas (I don't mean to be sexist, but I assume it's like 99.9% dudes around here )
As much as it pains me to say it...this insanely clean car is now for sale. I hate to get rid of it, but I randomly ended up buying my dad's F80 Comp recently so I can't justify keeping this. My loss is your gain! https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2126819
