First question is - are you equipped with 6LF? If not, you have your choice of the mObridge and BMW iPod kits. Overall decision depends on what specific features you are looking for.

If choosing mObridge - we have the mObridge iPod connector and mObridge iPod/Bluetooth combo.

Just don't settle for the BMW model, it's unbearably slow and doesn't offer charging support for the new iPod/iPhone lineup.

Sorry, I meant 6FL. If you do not have the USB port below the AUX input, you are not equipped with this feature.

Here's the kit I recommend:

mObridge - iPod integration kit for e8X 1-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=2034

let me know if you have any questions on the kit.

WTF! You can't just plug the iPod into the aux jack? What is the aux jack good for then? Any random non iPod MP3 player?

You can - but this is hardly an "integrated" solution. Nothing other than a input jack.

what he means is you would have no control of the ipod except for physically using the buttons ON the ipod. Also this method does not charge the ipod if you simply use an 1/8" male to male cable.

120$ for a bmw adapter seems like the way to go...

That's likely for the previous BMWs as the 1ers are fiber optic (MOST).

Not yet - BMW has not released the kits in the US.

At the moment, yes. We do have programming available - so its a step in the right direction when the kits start arriving.
