Yes installed in an apartment garage with no power tools and no lift. Wasn't easy to do but the job is relatively straight forward. If you have experience working on cars you should definitely tackle it! Always fun to work on things yourself. GL!

looks nice. How was fitment of the shift boot to the shift knob? i've never replaced a BMW shift knob (had a Honda before..) so I am not sure if you had to do some additional work to make it sit nicely with the boot.

I had a 328i short shifter rod in there so the knob sat closer to the boot than it would on a stock car. The original fake leather boot had a rectangular clip/ring that held it in place to the oem knob, but that ring is utterly useless when you have an aftermarket knob.
I taped the inside of the fake leather boot to the rod and held it in place like that(pic 3), but if you get the suede boot like the first two pictures, the opening of the boot has a circular ring that fits quite nicely to any knob without any modifying.
